Hello and welcome! My name is Brittany Schenck (pronounced skenk) and I am your waterfall-loving photographer based in Huntsville, Alabama! Mixing my two favorite hobbies (hiking and photography) eventually led me to build this company and I've never felt more in my element!

From a young age, I have always had an eye for capturing moments and creating art through photography. I am fascinated by the ability of a single photograph to freeze a moment in time. I would often take my little disposable cameras and take candids of my friends enjoying the field trip, playing soccer at school or of cool mushrooms I found growing in the woods. The cost of developing those cameras and buying new ones was certainly not an expense my parents were expecting to pay when they added me to their family! Looking deep in the archives at these photos, I can remember the feelings from that time of my life. For this reason, I believe family photography is incredibly important.


Humble Beginnings

I am also a biology graduate from UAH and have spent years doing field work in the woods. This has required me to learn about backpacking, hiking safety, wildlife, plant and tree identification, and more! I love taking inexperienced hikers out to the woods and teaching them about the world we live in. It brings me exorbitant amounts of joy to watch a hesitant child slowly grow comfortable in the woods, until before you know it, we have a confident little adventurer on our hands. By offering adventure photography sessions, I get to take photos of your beautiful family exploring our amazing outdoors, which is the perfect way for me to blend both my passions.

I believe that photography is a powerful tool for self-expression both in front of the camera and behind), and it has allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life. Celebrating different cultures and milestones is such a joy of mine! I am deeply committed to my craft and constantly learning and growing more in my art and my business, and I am so glad you’re along for the ride!


My Philosophy and Background

My specialty is family adventure photography, and I love nothing more than being able to capture the beauty and essence of your family frolicking together in nature. I always strive to capture unique and authentic moments that tell a story- the sweet newborn fingers as they grasp your own finger, the silly competitiveness of your older kids, the strong foundation you’ve built with your spouse over sleepless nights after one of you (not naming names) forgot the coffee on the last grocery run.

When I'm not behind the lens, you can find me jumping on the trampoline with my toddler, climbing rocks both in the gym and outside, swimming through waterfalls, or hanging out with my close friends after our kids have gone to bed! I find that these activities help to recharge my creativity and keep me inspired.
